Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Saman Malik is a graduate of Concordia University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. She started her career as a television producer for the leading Pakistani media corporation, Hum Television Network, where she worked on subjects ranging from culture & lifestyle to current affairs. As a freelance producer and writer she has worked for Voice of America, MTV, Toronto Star, The News and Dawn.com. Malik is currently pursuing a master’s degree in documentary filmmaking at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York. Follow her on Twitter @SamanMalik.
David is a current student on the MSc Journalism program at Columbia University and graduate of Warwick University in his native England. He currently writes a weekly column for PolicyMic and has previously worked as Theatre Editor for Broadway Baby, Arts Editor for The Boar, and has written for publications including Aesthetica, The Student Journals and Belle Jar.
David is interested in whatever platforms, media and methods can be explored to deepen arts and culture journalism in the future. As a firm believer in practical experience of what you critique he is also an active member of the theatre community. David is currently company producer of InDepth, a member of DeadPosh and regularly writes, produces and acts in other productions.
Born and raised in a Tunisian family in Paris, France, Margot Haddad is a graduate from La Sorbonne University and the European Institute of Journalism. She started her career as a reporter in France and then moved to the United States to become a White House producer for French television. She then became an on-camera political correspondent in Washington D.C. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science at the Columbia Journalism School and would like to become a reporter in Africa or the Middle East. Haddad is passionate about languages and Oriental studies. She is a big fan of Arabic music and artists such as Tunisian singer Sonia Mbarek or Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram.
Alana is a multimedia journalist covering all things cultural, fashion, sports, and political related. She is from Washington D.C., but grew up as a military child moving around every two years and living in places such as the aloha state, Hawaii. She's a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia where she began contributing as an on-camera reporter for the sports channel, ESPN University. Alana has covered award shows and national conferences in the D.C. metropolitan area interviewing entertainers and political figures. Her love for culture & lifestyle journalism led her to the fashion district in New York City where she helped manage a website and produce content for a men's luxury brand.
Alana is currently pursuing a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University. Whatever the media platform may be, she loves using forms of language to connect with people. Inspiring others to dream more, learn more, and become more is her passion. Follow her on twitter @AlanaWinns.
